Company has been recognized for its Patient-Centered Medical Home care

NCQA LogoNEW PORT RICHEY, FL (February 4, 2016) – Mobile Physician Services has been awarded recognition as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), the company announced today. Mobile Physician Services is a multi-specialty house call practice which provides medical care to homebound patients in 19 counties throughout Florida.

The NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home recognizes a model of primary care that combines teamwork and information technology to improve care, improve patients’ experience of care and reduce costs. Mobile Physician Services fosters ongoing partnerships between patients and their personal clinicians, who coordinate treatment across the health care system.

Mobile Physician Services is one of only a few house call practices in the nation with both primary care and specialist providers on staff. The company provides the same array of services that would be available in a traditional medical office, but in the comfort of a patient’s own home. The services Mobile Physician Services coordinates include lab work, X-rays, ultrasound, EKG, sleep studies, skilled nursing care, home health aides, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and respiratory therapy.

“It’s a tremendous honor to receive this recognition from NCQA,” said Joanne M. Turner, Clinical Director of Mobile Physician Services. “This speaks to the quality of our operations, a function of the skill and experience of our providers and staff. Each of our patients has his or her own challenges and needs, and we focus on individualized care to make a difference in their quality of life.”

To earn recognition, which is valid for three years, Mobile Physician Services demonstrated the ability to meet the program’s key elements and embodies the characteristics of the medical home model. The NCQA standards for this recognition align with the principles jointly established by the American College of Physicians, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Osteopathic Association.

“NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition raises the bar in defining high-quality care by emphasizing access, health information technology and coordinated care focused on patients,” said NCQA President Margaret E. O’Kane. “Recognition shows that Mobile Physician Services has the tools, systems and resources to provide its patients with the right care, at the right time.”
